Pesty for MAC
Free, open-source clipboard manager for Mac: your copy history as a colour-coded strip that slides up from the bottom of the screen.
Pesty Overview
Pesty is a clipboard manager for macOS, inspired by Paste. It keeps a history of everything you copy, including plain text, rich text, links, images, files and colours. Press Command-Shift-V and a full-width strip slides up from the bottom of the screen. Each clip is a card tinted by the app it came from, showing the app icon, the type of content, a preview and when it was copied. Pick one with the arrow keys or Command-1 to Command-9, press Return, and it goes straight into the app you were using.
Pesty is free and open source under the MIT license, written in Swift and SwiftUI by Moamen Basel, with no third-party dependencies. Version 1.3.0 adds undo for deletions, image previews on cards, a real search field and a full menu for each clip. It needs macOS 14 or later and runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel. The direct download is signed and notarized by Apple. To paste directly into other apps it asks for Accessibility permission the first time. Pesty is also on the Mac App Store for an optional one-time fee, which the developer says only helps pay for the Apple developer membership; that sandboxed version asks for no permissions, so you press Command-V yourself after choosing a clip.

Pesty FAQ
Is Pesty free?
Yes. Pesty is free and open source under the MIT license. The GitHub download and Homebrew install cost nothing. The Mac App Store version has an optional one-time fee.
Is the Mac App Store version different?
The developer says it is the same app, and that the fee only helps cover the Apple developer membership. It is sandboxed and asks for no permissions, so after you choose a clip you press Command-V to paste it yourself.
Which macOS version does Pesty need?
Pesty needs macOS 14 or later.
Does Pesty run on Apple silicon?
Yes. Pesty is a single universal app that runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
How do I open Pesty?
Press Command-Shift-V, the default shortcut, which you can change. Pesty lives in the menu bar and can start at login.
Why does Pesty ask for Accessibility permission?
The direct download and Homebrew builds ask for it the first time you paste, so that Pesty can paste into other apps for you. You can change this in Settings under Permissions.
Does Pesty save passwords I copy?
Pesty ignores clips that password managers mark as concealed. History is stored with file permissions that only your user account can read.
What are pinboards?
Pinboards are named, colour-tagged collections for clips you use again and again. Clips in a pinboard never expire.
Can I install Pesty with Homebrew?
Yes, from the developer's own tap: brew install --cask momenbasel/pesty/pesty
Where does the Pesty download on pesty.FULLMAC.app come from?
